Ronald Jefferson Henley, born in Houston, Texas, faced hardships early in life. Growing up in Cedar Terrace projects on Galveston Island, he and his brother Edward worked odd jobs to support their family. Ronald’s childhood was marked by his father’s doubts about him because of his skin color, TO BLACK! leaving him feeling rejected and heartbroken his father passed away when Ronald was just nine years old.
Despite these challenges, Ronald found solace in his love for writing. This was a way of expressing his feelings, the rejection of his father left him feeling unimportant and unwanted. In 2000, he established his own music studio, diving into beat-making, sound engineering, and recording . His talent shone brightly, leading to a captivating live performance at the Victoria Community Center in Texas in 2000, where he showcased local talent alongside his own musical creations.
Around 2003, Ronald delved into Hip Hop Gospel and poetry, captivating audiences across Houston with his raw emotion and lyrical prowess. His talent was recognized when he won Houston’s inaugural open mic poetry contest in 2009, propelling him into the world of acting. He honed his craft in Los Angeles and graced screens and stages with his presence.
In 2017, Ronald co-founded a trucking enterprise, facing both triumphs and setbacks. Despite challenges, he remained resilient, his spirit unbroken. After losing his job as a maintenance electrician in 2019, Ronald refused to give up. He rebuilt his credit, secured a loan, and revived his trucking venture with renewed determination.
Despite being a middle school dropout and struggling to raise his four sons as an “every other weekend” dad due to not being in a relationship with their mothers, Ronald overcame the odds. He outgrew a life of crime and overcame drug addiction, realizing he wanted a better life for himself and his sons.
As a Creator, Author, Actor, Entrepreneur, father, and grandfather, Ronald recognized that in life there is no greater challenge than self. Through it all, Ronald’s unwavering faith and determination serve as an inspiration to all who face adversity.
